Description

Runner² is an educational endless runner game I made for a college project. I created most of this game's assets and most of the programming. My college tasked me and my fellow students with the making of an educational endless runner game. This was an interesting genre for a game as there aren’t many educational games as it is and I could not find any other educational endless runner games out there. With that, I came up with the idea to set it in a school hallway that would have common school objects that would be obstacles. For the educational part, I came up with the idea to have a book appear that would open and have a question and there would be 3 pieces of paper that would appear ahead with some answers and you have to move into the lane with the correct answer. One of my friends had progressed quicker than me with the programming and had got something similar to what I just explained. So I used his scripts and changed a few parts to accommodate what I wanted.

Description

Momentum is a parkour puzzle game that I made with a friend for a college project in the first year and it happens to be the first game I worked on. I created the 3d assets, textures and animations in the game while my friend did the programming, created the hud, sound effects and post-processing. I and my friend used to play quite a lot of the game CSGO and really liked the “Surfing” mode that was available through community servers and the Steam workshop. This “Surfing” was a big inspiration for this game and we wanted to have a similar experience. The main objective we based the game around was speedrunning as you can see with the timer in the top left. However, my friend didn't manage to make it save your time due to the development getting cut short at college because of covid. This time cut hurt this games development quite a lot as we wanted to have more levels and a pause menu. I gained a lot from this project in terms of skills, knowledge and what I should have done differently.
